The shelf life of Global Tilapia ready- to-eat fish is one year. The vacuum package process which involves the process of removing air from a packaged item and the sealing it closed contributes to its extended shelf life.
Global Tilapia gets its fresh tilapia and Nile perch from Lake Victoria in Sindo and Mbita in Homabay County. The fish is then transported to Nairobi for processing and all the value addition we do.
When the fresh tilapia and Nile Perch reach our warehouse, they are scaled, gutted, cleaned thoroughly then sorted. The fillet is processed and packaged while the ready to eat fish is fried, blast frozen and later vacuum packed.
